    How to use Luminosity masks in GIMP for incredible control over the tones in your images! Isolate certain tonal values in your image to operate on independent of other ranges, such as only affecting the lighter parts of your image, while keeping the dark tones untouched (or vice versa). This same method can be used to really isolate on specific portions of your image based on luminosity, and to allow far greater control!
