On October 17, 2010, A said...

Thanks for this tutorial. I never thought that it could be made using GIMP. I'm a designer and usually using Photoshop for all of my design. I'll try this in GIMP anyway. THanks.
i made just some crappy looking texture just to see what i would do in the previewer and i derived from this: http://www.imvu.com/shop/product.php?products_id=3237571 then i added my texture and clicked apply changes and the bottom of my avi just went nude with the little leaf covering her.
whats going on and how can i get my brushes to go into gimp?
On February 1, 2010, A said...

To fill the scan line u first have to extract the zip file to your gimp folder, example (C:program files/Gimp 2.0/share/Gimp/2.0/pattens),after you extract it to the folder restart Gimp,in the tool box click the bucket fill tool go to the tool option in the toolbox, click on the patten fill option then click on the icon,a mini window wit patterns u can chose comes up at the bottom of it click on the "view as list" option, from the drop down list (this makes it easier to find what u want : ) chose "diagscanline5 (5 x 5)",select the new transparent layer from the step3,and hold down Ctrl + ; or go to edit menu n select the "fill with pattern" option and presto done, continue onto step 4 etc, hope this helped :D l8erz
On February 12, 2009, A said...

This tut is great, but i have a question. Im sorta new to GIMP. This is the part im having a problem with:
Add a transparent layer above your background and fill it with your scanline pattern (the scanline pattern is included in the tutorial zipfile). Because the scanlines are difficult to see, I'm not going to give you a screenshot for this step.

How do fill it?

Thanks
